The Ghana Ladies Golf Union (GLGU) would do everything possible to ensure that Ghana wins the gold medal in this year's All Africa Ladies Golf championship scheduled for Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, from May 2-4.
Mrs Elizabeth Ezan, President of the Union told GNA Sports in Accra at the weekend that the Union has selected quality golf players to represent it at the competition, which was being sponsored by the St. Andrew Golf Club of Scotland, the World's golf governing body.
She attributed the dismal performance of the Union in the previous competitions to the its inability to secure sponsorship, adding, "now that the Union is on the process of achieving some of its dreams, nothing could stop us from emerging champions in the competition."
Mrs Ezan called on corporate bodies and individuals to support the Union to achieve its aims. Fifteen golfers, representing the Union would leave on 26 April for Abidjan for the competition in which 15 other African countries would be participating.
The next competition would be held in Ghana in the year 2004.
