Lawrence Lartey says he is positive that he will land a permanent contract with the MTN 8 Champions Ajax Cape Town.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian international centre-back, who Ajax earlier this week confirmed has been training at Ikamva, impressed in his first full 90 minutes for the Urban Warriors in Saturdays 1-2 defeat against Santos at Ikamva.
Lartey was expected to join the Parow-based side two seasons ago when then manager Muhsin Ertugral was still at the helm of things.
Media reports indicate that the parties entered a gentleman's agreement seeing that, Lartey was still contracted with his Ghanaian side Ashanti Gold.
Lartey subsequently helped his side win League honours last season, while he skippered his country to a bronze medal at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Everything is looking positive that I shall get a permanent contract, Lartey told Kick Off.com after the match.
Im very impressed with the setup and the level of professionalism. The communication of the players on the pitch was also good. I can see myself playing here for many years to come.
Lartey's agent from Italy, Jarardo Cozzo was pleased with his clients performance and confirmed that he is just as positive that Lartey will become an Ajax player in the near future.
We are meeting on Monday with Ajax. Everything looks good and we hoping to finalise that contractual issues with them, Cozzo concluded.
