Ghana?s first International Hockey Federation (FIH) female outdoor umpire, Hagar Naa Oboshie Laryea was decorated with her FIH Badge and handed her FIH card and other accessories in a ceremony in Accra on Saturday April 8 2006. The ceremony was performed by the Chairman of the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) Oko-Nikoi Dzani with the assistance of some members of the GHA and in the full view of the hockey fraternity in Ghana.

The ceremony was performed by the Chairman of the Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) Oko-Nikoi Dzani with the assistance of some members of the GHA and in the full view of the hockey fraternity in Ghana. Hagar was upgraded to an FIH International outdoor umpire during the latter part of 2005 through an application filed on her behalf by the GHA and in recognition of her performance during 2004 and 2005.
