The vice-president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) George Afriyie believes the late start of the Premier League contributed to Wa All Stars abysmal performance against Al Ahli Tripoli in their CAF Champions League encounter last Sunday.
He explained that All Stars would have done better if the league had started earlier in the year.
All Stars were beaten 3-1 at home by Ahli and now faces a strong test to overturn the deficit when they travel to Libya for the second leg.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Mr Afriyie said "Early start of the league could have given Wa All Stars much match fitness ".
