In the latest FIFA/Coca Cola World Ranking, we have the familiar scene at the top of the table with a nigh invincible Brazil still ahead of France and Argentina.

The leader in the African ranking is South Africa (23), followed by Tunisia (25), Morocco (28) and Egypt (32) in that order.

Cameroun (41), Zambia (47), Nigeria (51), Cote d'Ivoire (52), Angola (53) and Ghana (57) come in that order.

Zimbabwe (68), Congo DR (69), Burkina Faso (73), Guinea (78), Algeria (82), Togo (83), Congo (85), Namibia (86), Senegal (87), Gabon (88), Mali (93) and Liberia (95) follow up.

The year 2000 would go down in the annals of the international football as the most action packed ever. As is fitting for the end of the millennium, the 1000 match threshold will imminently be crossed given that 997 international 'A' matches have already been registered.
