2015/2016 Ghana Premier League best player Latif Blessing will be missed by his Liberty Professionals teammates for the 2016/17 season, club captain Samuel Sarfo has said.
Blessing completed a move to America’s Major League Soccer (MLS) side Kansas City on Tuesday January 11 after earlier rejecting an opportunity to play in the South African league.
Speaking to Class Sports, Sarfo said Blessing’s departure was “a big loss to the club”.
“We are going to miss Latif because he made a great impact in our campaign last season and he being away will leave a gap in our team, but Liberty [Professionals] [are] known for producing talents, so we hope to see another player emerging to fill that gap,” he stated.
Blessing, apart from emerging as the best player for the 2015/2016 league season, was also the top scorer, netting 17 times for the Dansoman-based club.
