Accra, June 10, GNA - The Volta Regional Sports Authority in conjunction with the Regional Co-ordinating Council has fixed the launch of the Regional Unity Games for Monday, July 4 in Ho.
The Volta Regional Unity Games is aimed at selecting the best sports men and women to represent the Region at the forthcoming National Unity Games in Accra later in July.
A statement issued by Gabriel Yao Missodey, Regional Director of the National Sports Authority copied to GNA Sports in Accra said the launch is to create awareness among the people ahead of the Games, which is under the theme: "Uniting the people through sports," and is scheduled for 10-14 July at the Anloga Senior High School.
It said the launching will be performed by the Volta Regional Minister, Joseph Amenowode.
The event will be attended by the 18 Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Region, Municipal and District Co-ordinating Directors, Municipal and District Sports Development Officers as well as District Directors of Education and Heads of Departments.
