Frenchman Claude Le Roy has given no reasons for his decision not to extend his contract with the Black Stars.

Le Roy turned down a two-year offer to continue as coach of Ghana on Thursdays.

He said he'd had "two good years" managing the Black Stars and when asked why he'd decided to move on he commented: "A number of things, after a certain time you begin to see the other's faults."

The Frenchman, who led Ghana to third in the 2008 African Nations Cup held on home turf, was offered a new deal to try and qualify the west African nation for the 2010 World Cup.

But he said: "They offered me a new contract but I think it's the end of a chapter.

"I think I've given everything that I could give. I think it's for the best."

Le Roy, who claims he has nothing concrete on the horizon, even though he has been linked with the Ivory Coast job added: "Everyone thought I'd signed for another two years but no, the federation made me an offer, that's all."
