Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Professional League Board (PLB) will release fixtures of the 2003 Premier League today.
PLB Chairman Sylvester Mensah said all that is required is the smooth conclusion of tomorrow's playoff between Power FC and Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs to determine the last team to join the Premier Division.
Last Saturday Kpando Hearts of Lions and Stay Cool FC cruised into the Premier Division for the first time in their lives but Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs widely tipped to top the Middle League crumbled in their last two games with a loss and a draw respectively and found themselves uncomfortably at the third position.
Asked if there would be no questions about the transparency of the methodology employed in coming up with the fixtures, Mensah stated that the procedure was so foolproof there would be no reason for a hanky panky.
Mensah said immediately after tomorrow's match the PLB and its relevant associates would quickly go into action to work on the fixtures.
"We will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday and hopefully by the close of that meeting we should have concluded the fixtures for release to the clubs.
"The clubs require at least one week notice to prepare for the various fixtures and it is imperative that the PLB releases these fixtures in good time for them to prepare for their first few matches," Mensah told the Soccer Express.
The PLB last week met the Premier League clubs and other stakeholders to approve the 2003 league programme. The meeting approved that the league kicks off on May 11 and conclude in late November.
