Professional League Board chairman Mr.Abra Appiah has revealed that the 2006/2007 league season might commence in July after the world cup in Germany if Congress approves of their proposal
The chairman told METRO SPORTS on METT 96.1Fm in Kumasi that the current directive from Fifa that all National Leagues worlwide should break before 15th May this year has compelled the P.L.B to propose to congress to restructure our league calender to match that of other European countries.
Mr. Abra Appiah also hinted that the P.L.B together with the G.F.A have arranged a sponsorship deal to organise a knock out competition which would involve the 16 premier league clubs including relegated Ebusua Dwarfs and Kade Hotspurs next week in order to ease the financial burdens on the clubs before the commencement of the season`s league.
He however made it clear that the P.L.B as at now does not exist since the F.A is yet to recieve response to their letters to the other members who will form the board in accordance with the Fifa Statutes adopted by the G.F.A and also hinted that he has personally replied and accepted to be the chairman of the Board.
