Lesotho could be grouped with Ghana again in World Cup qualifying after winning 1-0 against Burundi in the first leg on Friday.
Lehlomela Ramabele scored for the Sihlangu and if they win the second leg on aggregate the southern Africans could be grouped with Ghana in Group D, together with Sudan and Zambia.
It would be a rare appearance in World Cup qualifying But they can also now play for a draw and it will be a fascinating second leg in four days’ time that could see the country make a rare appearance in the group stages of qualifying.
Lesotho first played Ghana eleven years ago in a thrilling 3-3 draw and have since been grouped with the Black Stars twice in World Cup qualification. They have never beaten Ghana in any international meeting despite coming close twice.
Ghana last met the southern Africans in 2008, winning 3-0.
