Liberty Professionals Skipper Samuel Sarfo has disclosed his team’s secret following their penalty shootout victory to eliminate defending Champions Medeama SC from the 2015/2016 MTN FA Cup.
The Dansoman based side surprised many by progressing to the round of 32 at the expense of the two-time FA Cup winners.
In-form striker Abass Mohammed had initially shot the home side into the lead in the first half at the Tarkwa T and A Park but the Scientific Soccer lads came strongly in the second half to get an equalizer through young sensation Latif Attah Blessing.
Liberty went on to win the game 5-4 on penalties and Captain Samuel Sarfo says discipline was key their progression
Speaking in an exclusive interview with SportsCrusader.com after the game, the Ghana Police Corpora said, “The game was a crunch duel because they came all out to defend their FA Cup title but we coming in as the underdogs in the cup match stood disciplined and adhered to the coach’s instructions. We couldn’t have gotten de win if we had been tactically indiscipline”
Sarfo has been instrumental in Liberty’s good start to the season following his appointment as the club captain at the beginning of the season.
