The Ghana Football Association (GFA), Executive Committee has temporary banned Heart of Lions from using the Kpando Stadium as its home grounds with immediate effect.

This follows an incident where supporters of the club threw objects at the officiating crew during and after the Match day 18 of the First Capital Plus Premier League match involving Lions and Bechem United played on June 17, at the Kpando Stadium.

This led to injuries to one of the match officials, Assistant referee James Osarfo.

According to the GFA, the decision was taken in accordance with Article 15(2) of the GFA General Regulations which states that “The GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, match officials or spectators cannot be guaranteed”.

The Premier League Board (PLB), will therefore determine the venue for the club’s subsequent matches in accordance with the provisions of Article 15(3) of the GFA General Regulations.
