Pierre Littbarski has expressed interest in the Ghana national team job.
The German great has submitted his application to the Ghana FA, along with Dutchman Jo Bonfrere(pictured). The FA have a policy of seeking coaches between 40-60 years of age, which Littbarski hopes gives him a chance.
"Having been a player and having been there before, I know what it is like to aspire to greater heights, and that is what I want to achieve with the Stars, if I get the opportunity to handle the team," he told the Daily Graphic.
Littbarski said his interest in the Ghana job was not just because of the Stars' performance at the World Cup, but because of the talent that abound in the country which could be turned into a formidable, winsome team.
He said he followed the Stars with keen interest during the qualifiers, the Nations Cup and the World Cup and believes that they have what it takes to win the 2008 Nations Cup, as well as qualify for the 2010 World Cup.
The FA will sit down this week to discuss the Black Stars position.
