Losing Women's Team of the Year must inspire us to do more - Yusif Basigi

Black Princesses coach Yusif Basigi says his side missing out on the CAF Women’s National Team of the year award should encourage them to do more.

South Africa’s women’s National team popularly known as Bayana Bayana beat Ghana and Nigeria to the award at this year's Aiteo CAF awards held in Accra on Thursday.

"We are happy for the recognition, at least we were nominated so not winning is not a disappointment but rather something to encourage us to do more," he said

Coach Yusif Basigi and his girls are currently enjoying a glittering qualification process for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup, which has seen them score 20 goals in their four games so far against Algeria and Kenya, with only Cameroon standing between them and a place at next year’s World Cup.
