Liberty Professional coach George Lamptey admits it’s a big blow to his side to lose key players ahead of the start of another season.

Kennedy Ashia who orchestrated most of Liberty’s attack from midfield has left the club to join Sudanese giants Al Hilal while dependable defender Edwin Tuffour has also joined rivals Asante Kotoko.

Karim Alhassan has also left to join Al Merriekh leaving Liberty Professionals with vital positions to fill.

Coach George Lamtey admits the exits of these key players has taken a toll on his team.

“These were key players for Liberty last season so of course it is a blow,” he said.

“We have lost Ashia, Tuffour and the likes and it is not easy to replace them.

“But I am confident we can get the necessary replacements”

Lamptey has promoted several players from Liberty’s U20 side to the first team.

The club have also secured five young talents to augment their bleeding squad ahead of next season.
