ME-WE Ghana organizes rural bike race

Denkyira-Wawase (C/R), Oct 8, GNA - Yusif Abdulai, a farmer at Denkyira-Ankaako on Saturday emerged winner of the Second ME-WE Rural Bicycle Racing Competition held at Denkyira-Wawase in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira District.

The farmer who won the race in a time of one hour 42 seconds over a distance of 42-kilometres received a bicycle, a wall clock, a trophy and an unspecified amount of money s his prize.

Rauf Salih from Twifo-Hemang placed second while John Aidoo and Mohammed Zubeto, both from Nyinasin came 3rd and 4th respectively and were each presented with a wall clock and cash prizes. In another competition organized for competitors from Accra, Takoradi and Cape Coast, also at Denkyira-Wawase, Philip Randolph of Accra came first in a time of One hour 24 minutes, Francis Ebu of Cape Coast came second, Joseph Annan of Accra placed third with Stephen Anaful from Cape Coast coming fourth.

Dr Nii Amaa Ollenu, Country Director of ME-WE Ghana, a Non-Governmental Organisation told the GNA Sports that the competition was organized to promote activities of the NGO in the Central Region.
