It said the land was secured for public purpose under the State Lands (Nungua Site National Sports Complex) Instrument 1999 (E.I 19) adding that, the precise boundaries have been spelt out in the E.I.

The project which has been on the time table for years is expected to create opportunities for sports men and women to develop their talents, whilst create a pool of talents for national team invitations.

With Accra Sports Stadium as the only multiple sports facility in the country, the new project will serve as an alternative for young men and women who take up sports.
