Hearts narrowly won their 2017 MTN FA Cup quarterfinal match on Sunday
The Phobians pipped lower tier side Danbort FC 1-0 courtesy a well-taken Vincent Atingah penalty at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Danbort put out an impressive fight against their Premier League opponents but were undone by sheer inexperience when defender Sadique Abubakar hacked down substitute Patrick Razak in the penalty area.
Regular penalty taker Vincent Atingah then stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, with the only goal of the lively encounter in the 64th minute.
Samudeen Ibrahim and Patrick Razak’s introduction in the second half gave the Phobians much impetus up front as they dominated proceedings till the final whistle.
Hearts have qualified for the semifinals alongside Medeama and Wa All Stars who also secured wins over Amidaus Professionals and Berekum Chelsea respectively on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak last won the FA Cup 17 years ago when they beat Okwawu United in the final.
