The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Mr Michael Ikpoki left the Tema Country Golf Club (TCGC) fulfilled after staging a masterpiece golf competition, MTN Golf Classic over the weekend.
To Mr Ikpoki, the provision of the platform-the golf classic competition intended to connect the company and their customers was fulfilling.
And he summed it up in a post-tourney interview on Hole 18 saying “…Yes, I think we have met our target and expectation. That is to say providing the platform, I mean this competition, which we have done successfully for three years to connect to our numerous clients is refreshing enough.”
The MTN Chief added “A few weeks ago, we hosted the Asantehene Gold Cup, one of the biggest if not the biggest on the golfing calendar, and it goes to show our commitment to the promotion and development of golf in the country. It’s been good today considering the large turnout and the opportunity to connect with our customers.”
Single handicapper (1) E. Kofi Owusu finished first in the men’s group A event after recording a 64 net score to run away with a trophy and a Samsung Galaxy, while P. Tender, 67net and Omane-Brempong, 69net followed in that order for the second and third prizes.
Lady golf ace Mona Captan, 71 net score, beat former TCGC lady captain Florence Etwi-Barimah by three strokes to grab the Ladies A event with Mrs Margaret Owusu-Baah, 75 net placing third.
It was Seth Amoah, who proved superior in the men’s Group B after an impressive 61 score with Sir Sam Jonah Tang Bin following in that sequence. Cathy Boateng recorded 72net to pick the top most prize in the ladies B event with Petrina Galley picking the second prize.
Club captain Dr Owusu-Baah commended MTN and the participants for showing up in their numbers.
