MTN Golf exposes new talents

The exciting MTN CEO’s Invitational Golf competition must have

come at the right time and it exposed the new breed of young golfers who are

coming up to make the game more competitive and attractive.

Two days after the MTN Invitational event at Tafo, the Ghana Golf

Awards was launched at the Media Center of the Accra Sports stadium with some

of the prizes at stake likely to go to some of the golfers coming up.

Vincent Atila, Cynthia Awuni, Cynthia Nyantakyi, Peter Amenyo,

Owusu Bonsu, Eric Bonnah, Captan, Amadu Yakubu were the winners in both categories

A and B who were rewarded with MTN souvirnirs and latest Nokia phones.

Serame Tankobong the new CEO of MTN Ghana expressed his

satisfaction in playing on the greeeny lawns of Tafo. He said the company has

been engaging its customers in most of its programmes and they are meeting

their targets.

He stressed MTN”s commitment to sports development in Africa and

hinted that as a responsible company, they always look at the economic perspectives

in all their activities.

Tankobong acknowledged Ghana’s role in the development and

promotion of sports in Africa with a firm hope and believe that the country

will make Africa proud at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

prize categories for the proposed Golf wards are Amateur Golfer of the Year

(Male), Amateur Golfer of the Year

(Female), Most improved Golfer

(Male), Most improved Golfer

(Female), Most promising Golfer

(Male), Most promising Golfer

(Female), Junior Golfer of the

Year (Male), Junior, Golfer of the

Year (Female), Senior Golfer of

the Year (Male), Senior Golfer of

the Year (Female), Recognition

Award (Otumfuo), Recognition Award

(Osagyefo Amoatia), Golf, Manager

of the Year , Professional Golfer of the Year, Best Dressed Golfer (Male), Best

Dressed Golfer (Female), Golf Club of the Year, Golf Personality of the Year,

Golfer of the Year, Golf Spot,Golf,Company/Companies and the Media Houses who have

supported Golf.

The date for

the first ever Ghana Golf Awards is 22 December in Accra.

22 year

old Vincent Atila from Tafo promised to make his admirers happy as he looks

forward to become on of the nominees and winners. He hinted that he has won

four major titles this year and prays to be recognized by the organisers and

media.
