MTN WALKATHON climax “2016 Savana-Fest”

A number of Keep Fit Clubs in the Tamale Municipality took part in a 10-kilometre special health walk tagged: “MTN WALKATHON” to climax this year's Savana Festival.

The participants walked through some principal streets of the metropolis and later converged at the Tamale Jubilee Park where they were taken through aerobics.

Alhaji Mohammed Zakari, the Northern Regional Chairman of the Association of Keep Fit Clubs, said regular exercises was important for good health and advised Ghanaians to take in a lot of water and fruits to stay healthy.

Alhaji Zakari urged the youth to avoid drug abuse, alcoholism and excessive sex to ensure a healthy body.

He commended the participants for their turnout and also expressed gratitude to MTN and the Sunyani-based Suncity Radio for contributing meaningfully towards the socio-economic development of the country through their sponsorship of the event and the annual festival.

Mr Ransford Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer of Suncity Radio, lauded the collaboration between MTN and his media house over the years and appealed to other corporate bodies to come on board to support the worthy cause.
