Accra, Nov 8, GNA - Beginning from Thursday, November 8, 2007, MTN subscribers would benefit from a promotion dubbed: "Go spot the ball and win", design to reward subscribers with various prizes in the run up to the Ghana 2008 tournament.
The six week-promotion, which would end December 15, 2007 would send subscribers on an adventure to spot the ball in pictures of three different football actions between Michael Essien and Stephen Appiah, which would be published in the local print media over the period of the promotion.
Miss Mawuena Dumor, who launched the promotion, said in each action, there would be three different spots for subscribers to choose from in their prediction of the correct location of the ball and text their answer to 1354 at the normal sms rate.
She said there would one draw every two weeks and for each draw, 100 prizes would be awarded to subscribers. The prizes included 32' LCD Plasma television as first prize for each draw.
"The second to fifth prizes winners would take home digital cameras, sixth to 10th award winners would have mobile phones and other winner would have VIP tickets to see Ghana2008 matches, GH100 cedis free talk time and MTN souvenirs," she said.
Ms Dumor said the promotion was opened to both pre-paid and post-paid subscribers of MTN and encouraged subscribers to take part and win the awards in place for them.
She cautioned subscribers to be weary of persons who had taken to using MTN promotions to defraud subscribers, saying that, "we wish to advise our subscribers that our promotions do not require payments of any kind and nothing beyond accepted forms of identification are required to claim prizes."
Ms. Dumor also emphasised that the MTN official website was nothing more than www.mtn.com.gh, saying that some fraudulent persons have, in the past tried to divert subscribers' attention to another website. Mr. Bret Goshen said MTN was always happy to win the rights to sponsor football tournaments in Africa, adding that, that was indicative of MTN's passion and desire to see Africa develop.
He assured the 50 million MTN subscribers across Africa and the Middle East that the company would continue to deliver the best of such promotions to reward customers for choosing and staying with MTN.
