MTN supports SWAG 44th awards with GHC60,000

Mobile Telecommunication Network, MTN Ghana has given Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), a whooping GHC 60,000 for their upcoming 44th Awards night.

Remember, MTN Ghana is the headline sponsor of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and has committed to support the association for this year's awards set to be held.

The package presented to the leadership of the association on Wednesday is made up of GHC 50,000 cash and GHC 10,000 worth of products to be given to the award winners.

The Corporate Service Executive at MTN, Mr. Sam Korankye stated at the course of the presentation that ‘MTN is committed to the awards which is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of sportsmen and women.He added that people within the sporting fraternity look forward to the awards to put their names on the SWAG’s Hall of Fame.

In ending, he praised SWAG for the role in monitoring sportsmen throughout the year and celebrating them accordingly during the awards night.

Veteran Sports Journalist and President of. SWAG, Mr. Kwabena Yeboah on behalf of the association expressed their profound gratitude to MTN for the immense support which spans over a decade.

“MTN and SWAG stands for excellence and certain that, with both outfits working together, the awards would only get better with time”, he said.

He assured that the money would be put to good use to ensure a very successful and memorable event with Ghanaian dancehall gem Samini to rock the stage.

This year’s event is slated for May 11 at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) and is under the theme, “Celebrating Sports Excellence.”
