Gareth Bale became the toast of Madrid fans as the Spanish side won a third successive Champions League trophy in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The Welsh man has had his Madrid career blighted by injuries with rumours linking him with a move away from the Bernabeu but his two goals against Liverpool today, Saturday, May 26, 2018, will give Zinedine Zidane a second thought about the former Spurs man.

Bale who came on in the second half scored a breathtaking acrobatic goal reminiscent of Zidane’s goal against Leverkusen at the same stage of the Champions League in 2002. The forward also scored an incredible 45-yard shot to put the game to bed.

Hundreds of football fans thronged the Aviation Social Centre in Accra to watch the game and were left in awe by the sheer brilliance of Gareth Bale.

Real Madrid fans who hitherto had criticized the winger for his poor showing this season were full of praise for Bale.

Accolades like ‘hero’, ‘fantastic’, ‘superb’ among others were showered on Bale by the fans who were obviously on cloud nine after their beloved club made history as the first club to win the Champions League on three consecutive occasions.

The Liverpool fans on the hand were heartbroken and dejected. They expressed unhappiness with goalkeeper Karius’ performance which they assert was due to his inexperience at this top level.

Some of the fans slammed him and appealed to manager Jurgen Klopp to buy a new goalkeeper for next season.
