President Akufo-Addo has bemoaned the poor road network in the country.
According to the President, his working tour of the country has brought to the fore the need for government to invest heavily in the country’s road sector.
He indicated that the situation is contrary to the rosy picture painted by former President Mahama who boasted of unprecedented road infrastructure under his watch.
President Akufo-Addo indicated that Mr. Mahama’s “so-called unprecedented projects only exist in their Green Book”.
He therefore called on President Mahama to show to Ghanaians where his unprecedented road infrastructure is.
He also stated that schools in the country are going to experience infrastructural development to support teaching and learning.
Senior High Schools, he indicated, will benefit immensely from the project in order to be able to meet the increasing rate of enrollment due to the Free Senior High School programme.
He explained that government has been able to secure a $1.5m for the Ghana Education Fund(GetFund) to support infrastructural development in schools.
The President was speaking at Assin Jakai in the central region where the chiefs pleaded with him to work on their poor roads and poor state of schools in the area.
