The Ghana Chapter of the World Amateur Body Building Association (WABBA) held its maiden community audition at Down Town City Restaurant, Atadeka, a suburb of Ashaiman in Accra on Saturday March 3rd, 2018.
The event saw hundreds of people gathered to witness a diverse range of thrilling and fascinating contests between prospective talents as 11 athletes qualified for the next round of the selection process which is the District/Regional Championships.
In his address to the media at the event, President of WABBA Ghana, Mr. Victor Baiden, was very delighted with success of the tournament which saw huge numbers gathered at Down Town City Restaurant to witness the maiden edition of the community qualifiers
“We were pleasantly surprised that such a massive crowd turned out for the event and that everything went really well. The athletes were fantastic in their respective endeavours on the stage. Even though they were all novices they all demonstrated remarkable potential”
Mr Baiden added ” The unbiased search for new talent was our primary motivation for engaging people at the grassroots. We want to tap into the hidden talent in all communities in the country and ensure those hard-working Ghanaians are guided to make a smooth progression towards becoming professional athletes.”
WABBA Ghana will hold the next auditions in Tema on March 17, 2018
