Lorient striker Abdul Majeed Waris has been ruled out for a week Ghanasportsonline.com can reveal.
Waris is yet to recover to full fitness despite featuring in Ghana’s international friendly against Canada last Tuesday.
The 24-year-old could not join his teammate at training upon his return from international duty.
The former Trabzonspor attacker is still unfit according to Lorient’s medical team after picking up a knock during the 3-2 win over Bordeaux on October 4.
“We are quite disappointed with this turn of events, since, as you knew it, he had left the pitch in the game against Bordeaux 20 minutes before the end because of pain behind his thigh,” Lorient coach Sylvain Ripoll said.
“He had agreed to join the team (Black Stars) and left with a letter from the doctor stating the problem (thigh injury) he had suffered.”
He was however left out of the team that traveled to face Marseille in their League fixture on Sunday.
Sylvain Ripoll will however be hoping to have his striker fully fit when they take on Rennes at home.
