Ex-Black Stars and King Faisal midfielder Malam Yahaya has disclosed that he is ready to take up the assistant coaching job of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
To him, it is long overdue since the management of the Porcupine Warriors took that decision for him to add his technical know-how to lift the club.
He adds that he is a German-trained coach just like the interim head coach of the club Micheal Osei, and their partnership will surely turn the fortunes of the club.
Speaking to GHANAsoccernet.com on the technical direction of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Malam Yahaya said “It is far too long for Kotoko to approach me. I am a Kumasi-born and ready to help the club. They should have known that long ago.”
“I played in Germany and trained as a coach there just like Michael Osei. I attended most of my courses with him, and we are very good friends.”
“So for me to assist him will be the best thing to happen to Asante Kotoko,” he added.
Michael Osei is currently acting as the head coach of Asante Kotoko after the head coach David Duncan was asked to step aside from the club indefinitely by the management.
