Medeama workaholic engine Malik Akowuah has rubbished reports linking him with a surprise move to Hearts, insisting he's happy in Tarkwa.

Widespread media reports have linked the 26-year-old with a move to the capital following a blistering campaign with the two-time Ghanaian FA Cup champions.

Akowuah has emerged as perhaps the side's best player over the last three seasons with consistent displays for the side.

Many have hailed the quality of the former Ashantigold and Great Olympics combative enforcer.

He is Medeama's engine with Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane a huge admirer of the talented Ghanaian.

But the midfielder has exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com he has no plans of joining Hearts and only focused on helping Medeama to reach the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

"I don't know where these reports are coming from," he told GHANAsoccernet.com

"It's absolute false. I have not spoken with any Hearts official and have no intention of doing so.

"I am happy in Medeama. The club owner in particular has been a father figure to me ever since I arrived here, and I am very happy.

"Besides I'm even looking beyond this country if I decide to move.

"I will urge the Medeama fans to disregard the reports. You can never say never, but it won't happen."

Akowuah is expected to play a key role for the Mauve and Yellows ahead of their make-or-break CAF Confederation Cup tie against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.
