Hearts of oak new recruit, Malik Akowuah affirms that his primary motive of switching camp is to win the Ghana Premier League, although he is garnered immense experience in CAF Confederation Cup.

The stout midfielder joined the Phobians from Medeama in a move that was surrounded with controversies.

He was a linchpin in Medeama’s squad that featured in last year’s CAF Confederation Cup.

The former AshGold marksman pitched camp to seek for domestic trophy.

In an exclusive interview with sports 24, the ambitious midfielder reckons, winning the Ghana Premier League in his footballing career influenced him to pen a deal with the former Champions;

“I signed for hearts because, as a player before you exchange a club, you have to look at the reason for joining that club. I have played in 3 confederation cup, 1 with Ashgold and 2 with Medeama sc.

“I have not featured in Champions league before and have not won the league before. After exhaustive deliberations with the management, I realize they want to win the league.

“Hearts have the players to win the league and they are serious to win the league. So I joined because of winning the league. From the preparations I have seen so far, we are poised to win the league and I will contribute enormously towards that.”
