Former King Faisal coach Mallam Yahaya has explained the reason why accept to be the assistant coach of Karela United.
Mallam Yahaya was tipped to be the head coach of the club but later accepted to be the assistant of Evans Adotey after meeting with the management of the club.
The former Wassaman coach has explained why he accepted to assist Evans Adotey despite having what it takes to be the head coach.
“Some may say it’s a backward movement in my career as a coach but, to me, it’s a step in the right direction.
“I’m going to work under a very top-notch coach and I will learn a lot from him that will help me moving forward.
“Adottey is up there with the likes of Karim Zito, Oti Akenten and Maxwell Konadu. I don’t see anything wrong working under him,” he noted.
“This will be a preparatory grounds for my future endeavours. Very soon when the league resume people will see what we can do.”
The biggest task for Mallam Yahaya and his head coach is how they can lift Karela United out of the relegation zone when the league resume.
