Christmas came early for pupils at the Dzorwulu Special School as the official Manchester United fan group in Ghana presented some items to them on Friday.
The group donated a brand new mower, cartons of Planet drink, Verna Mineral Water and other assorted items to the school.
According to the president of Ghana chapter of Manchester United fans, Sammy Anim Addo the donation which happens to be their second-biggest outdoor event in two years ties in with the key feature of their parent club which is to help and uplift every member of the society.
He also called on other Manchester United fans in the country to join the group and thanked Twellium Ghana for their support.
He also assured the school of the group’s support in the near future.
“It’s not only about showing off or showing someone’s company but it’s from the heart. We know the school have challenges and one of them is a mower so we decided to provide one. We are also looking at doing more things for this school. This will not stop, we’ll come here again and support you. Supporting you is key and we love doing it”, he said.
Describing the donation as unprecedented, the assistant headmaster of the school revealed that the group is the first fans group to provide support to the group.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Manchester United Fans Ghana and called on other bodies to emulate their kind gesture.
“What I will say to them is thank you very much and God richly bless. This is the first time any fans group have donated items to us. We are really grateful and all I wish for them is God’s blessings. I will also appeal to others to help this school”, he said.
