Manhyia order board to reinstate coach Mas-Ud Dramani

Manhyia have overruled the impending exit of Mas-Ud Dramani and have accordingly ordered the Asante Kotoko board to reinstate the coach with immediate effect, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Kotoko's Board had written to direct the former national women’s team coach to proceed on an accumulated leave with a few months left to run on his existing deal.

The move by the board was made in response to the team’s stuttering start to their Premier League title defence.

The board have since been on an unofficial hunt for a new substantive coach with David Duncan, the much talked about as being the next in line to take the job.

Dramani reportedly wrote back requesting for an amicable settlement and payment of all his outstanding bonuses including his reported 5 or 10 percent cut on all player transfers since taking over in August 2012, in order to completely sever ties with the club.

All these have gone on without the official consent of the office of club owner, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Ashanti King had directly ordered for the retention of Dramani and even went further to make the former national women’s team coach a member of an interim management team in the absence of a substantive board when the departing K.K Sarpong board started initiating moves to get rid of Dramani over a year ago.

Kotoko have operated in the manner in which major decisions by the board need ratification from Manhyia – the major financier of the club – before being fully implemented.

The Board now finds itself in a fix after failing to secure the needed ratification from Manhyia to enforce their moves to get rid of Mas-Ud Dramani.

To add more salt to injury, the board have been ordered to immediately recall Dramani to resume his normal duties of coach of the side.

Assistant coach Michael Osei has been given interim charge of the team until a substantive replacement is found.

Osei presided over the side’s barren draw with West African Football Academy in the First Capital Plus Premier League on Sunday.
