Martin, Konadu win Taywood Bowl Golf

Dave Martin and Yaa Konadu Safo-Debrah became the proud winners of this year's Taywood Bowl golf competition played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.

Martin scored a plus of four while Konadu scored a plus of eight to win the Men's and Ladies events respectively, which was sponsored by Taysec Construction Limited.

S.D. Odame came second with a plus of two, beating David Arkutuy and Felix Addo on count-back while John Cobbina came fifth with a plus of one also beating C.T. Squire on another count-back.

Mona Captan took the second position in the Ladies event with a plus of four, Jeannette Hill was third with a plus of two while Beatrice Vetsch-Bempong placed fourth with a plus of one.

The one-day Bogey competition opened to amateur golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Windy Bay golf clubs, attracted over 120 participants.

Mr Sammy Adetola, Vice Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, praised the company for their immense contributions towards the development of the sport and called on other organisations to come to the aid of the club.

Mr Andrew Holmes, Managing Director of Taysec Construction Limited, said the sponsorship was the company's contributions towards the development of the sports in the country and gave the assurance that his outfit would sponsor the event next year.
