Asante Kotoko posted a 1-0 victory over Ghana Premier League leaders WA All Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.
Amos Frimpong's second half goal was enough to earn Kotoko full spoils against a resilient All Stars side as the Porcupines closed in on the top spot.
All Stars were the better side in the first half, tormenting the Porcupines' defence but failed to fetch a goal neither did Kotoko, who had a couple of openings.
Kotoko played a better second half, and it was no surprise they scored the all important goal to decide the feisty clash.
Amos Frimpong beautifully headed home Samuel Kyere's long free kick to put Kotoko a goal up in the 67th-minute mark, and they held on till referee brought proceedings to an end.
The goal was also captain Amos Frimpong's second in successive games following the one he got at Techiman last Sunday.
