Maximum Fitness Centre organises Independence Health Walk

Accra, Feb. 24, GNA - Maximum Gym and Fitness Centre, an-Accra based fitness centre will on Saturday, March 6, organize a Health Walk. The Walk dubbed "Lucozade Independence Day Health Walk" is being organised in collaboration with the local partners of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a leading global Pharmaceutical giant.

Nii Armah Amarteifio, Manager of the Maximum Gym and Fitness Centre told GNA Sports that the event is also to climax the 53rd Independence Anniversary celebrations with the aim of sending the message of health and fitness to the people.

He said participation for the event is free and has extended invitations to Keep Fit Clubs and Health Clubs in and around Dansoman to contact the organizers for the necessary registration modalities. About 1000 people are expected to participate in the 25-kilometre walk exercise, which will start at the Maximum Gym and Fitness Centre at Dansoman Sahara, through Obetsebi Lamptey Circle to Korle-Bu Hospital and terminate at the Ministry of Finance Flats at Dansoman.

Dignitaries expected to participate in the Walk include Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kofi Boakye, Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, former Deputy Minister of Defence - William Ofori Boafo, Chief Executive of Kwatsons Impex - Alex Quartey and Dotun Somoye, Country Manager of GSK. The event would be sponsored by Lucozade Sports.
