Asante Kotoko forward Maxwell Baakoh made his first appearance in a Kotoko shirt since March 2019 as the Porcupines beat Division-Two side Lazio FC 3-1 in Kumasi on Tuesday.
The offensive midfielder played 46 minutes of the friendly as he continues to step up his match fitness having received the all-clear to play by the Medical Team in November 2019.
Baakoh aggravated a niggling shin injury early in the group stages of Kotoko's campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2018.
Baakoh underwent successful surgery which sidelined him for the rest of the season.
But he was back in action on Tuesday afternoon in the game at the Baba Yara Stadium as the Porcupines hosted lower-tier sides, Kharis Academy and Lazio FC in a double-header friendly.
Baakoh did impress in the time that he spent on the field. The scoreline was barren when he replaced Mathew Cudjoe in the 9th minute.
