Maxwell Konadu's new job will be a completely different one to when he first took over the Porcupine Warriors.

On his first arrival as coach in 2011/12 GhPL season, Max K arrived at Kotoko as a club legend under the K.K Sarpong administration.

In his first season, he led Kotoko to the title, breaking records on the way. Kotoko amassed the most points in 2012 with 63, lost only three games and had the longest unbeaten run in the season 16. Kotoko were a strong force under Max Konadu.

The one season successful coach moved to the Black Stars as an assistant to Kwasi Appiah in 2013 before he was appointed as head coach of the local Black Stars B.

Max K. has a good success rate as a coach of the Porcupine Warriors, But his new relationship with Dr Kwame Kyei will be tested. Dr Kyei is, and will always be the boss around Kotoko. He hires and fires.

Kotoko is not a club that is looking for longevity but immediate results on the African terrain, which has led to the sacking of coaches like C.K Akunnor and Kjetil Zechariahson.

Maxwell is not one to hang around for long. Two years seems to be the most a club can put up with Max Konadu as he did with Wa All Stars. He’s also not one for pompous players.

Max will certainly look at bringing in a top quality players to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season as he is tasked to win the 2019/20 GhPL and deliver on the Africa continent.

It will certainly be an interesting second coming for Maxwell Konadu. Some people say you should never go back as most second comings have not been successful. For Maxwell, time will tell if he’s made the right decision to return to Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
