Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Maxwell Konadu has expressed optimism that the return of mercurial midfielder Matthew Anim Cudjoe will add a bit of creativity to his team as they push for the Ghana Premier League title.
The sensational teenager who has become the toast of a lot of Kotoko fans and neutrals who follow the Ghana League spent last week with German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and is said to have impressed handlers of the team.
He has however returned to Ghana and will continue his development with Kotoko for the meantime until a firm agreement is reached with Bayern Munich or any other team that expresses interest in securing his services.
In his absence, Kotoko struggled to breakdown a very resolute Dreams FC side in match day nine of the Ghana league last Sunday in Dawu.
Despite winning 1-0 away from home, it wasn’t until Dreams FC were shown a red card that Kotoko managed to let their numerical advantage count to punish their visitors.
With Kotoko occupying 5th position on the league log and 3 points adrift of league leaders Aduana Stars, Maxwell Konadu believes having all his players available is important.
“We are very happy to have Cudjoe back with us after his trip to Germany. We heard that he did very well and the guys in Bayern are impressed by what they saw. For now, he will be with us until a new development comes up. He is a quality player and once he is with us, we expect that he will help them team as much as possible,” coach Konadu said.
The nimble footed youngster is expected to feature this Sunday when Kotoko face off with regional rivals Ashantigold at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
