May Day Golf tees off at Achimota

Accra, April 22, GNA - The Achimota Golf Club May Day Price Open Championship tees off at its Golf Course in Accra on Monday, May 1. Air Commodore K.K. Pumpuni, Chief Executive of the Club who announced this in Accra said the one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition opened to amateur golfers, would be sponsored by Mrs Clara Price, Lady Captain of the Achimota Golf Club and wife of the late Mr Michael Price. He said the competition is being played in memory of the late Price, a member of the Club who died some years ago.

Notable among the golfers expected to be seen in action on the day would include Charles Tabi, John Sam, Dan Dennis, Gilbert Morgan, Yaw Assah Sam and little Nicolo Catto.

Meanwhile the Barclays Bank Eagle Championship which was postponed last week would now come off on Saturday, May 20. About 150 amateur and professional golfers are expected to participate in the competition. 22 April 06
