The ongoing McDan Juniors Tennis Championship at the Accra Sports Stadium is getting interesting as the rising star players get themselves separated from the ordinary players.
The tournament has reached the semi final stage with the boys Under 16 coming off this morning on center court between Aaron Asante of Ashiaman defeated Thomas Asare Boakye of Kalatec to qualify for the final, then the boys Under 14, Bright Nortey played Kenneth Adzokatse of Ashiaman.
In other pairing for girls Under 14, Lawrencia Mainoo of Ashiaman will face Aloena Naa Ankrah of Winneba.
On court one, for boys Under 12, Amos Asante was playing Yakubu Abubakar, then on court two for boys Under 16 Gabriel Obimpe of Tema beat Daniel Tagoe.
In the other boys Under 14 semi final, Michael Dosoo lost to Ishmael Dowuona of Osu.
At 1pm today, the girls Under 16 finals will be played between Marina Ibrahim of Winneba and Naa Mckorley of Aviation.
Lameck Bagerbaseh of Winneba has qualified for the boys Under 12 final after beating Kwesi Fripong of Tema.
The six day event has drawn students from various senior and junior high schools and some parents have also shown interest in following their kids to the tournament.
