Head coach of Medeama, Tom Strand was left frustrated as he blamed the T&A Park pitch in his side’s goalless draw game on Sunday admitting that Hearts of Oak was also tough on the day.

The Tarkwa based club failed to hit the back of the net on match day 28 despite dominating the Phobians from the blast of the whistle, Hearts of goalie, Soulama Abdoulaye denied them of a goal in the closest they came at scoring.

Medeama trainer, Tom Strand after his side’s pulsating goalless draw game with Hearts of Oak, the Swedish tactician was left frustrated as he blamed the Tarkwa pitch for his side’s inability to win the game.

“The two teams were fighting on the league table and the intensity was very high, the two teams were fighting for every duel unfortunately we didn’t really play the football that we wanted to play because the pitch was not good for us to play the game we wanted to play.

“And Hearts of Oak also made it difficult for us to possess the game like we use to do but the game we created some more chances than Hearts of Oak but we a failed to score that was our problem today,” Strand said in a post interview.

The 35 year old trainer explained the reason why the game failed to produce any goal at the T&A Park in Tarkwa.

“There was a lot of running and kicking of the ball, there was no constructive play it was more distractive and the game didn’t construct any better good goal scoring opportunity and I think that was the case today,” he added.

Medeama are currently not at the drop zone, but due to the points build up on the log sheet, the Mauve and Yellow are not secured on the league log.

However, the goalless draw has pushed the Phobians to the 15th position on the league table and they must win their next two games to escape relegation depending on the other results.

Medeama next league game is against Wa All Stars in Wa while the Phobians host Berekum Chelsea in Accra.
