Meteors crash out of men's football

They came, they saw and they flopped. Ghana's gold medal All Africa Games defence is finished.

The defending champions exited the Games in Congo Brazzaville on a whimper after a stale 0-0 draw in their opener and a 0-2 defeat against Nigeria in mid-week.

The Under-23 national team confirmed the elimination after Nigeria drew 1-1 with Senegal in the final Group B match. The Meteors were counting on the Dream Team to beat the Senegalese by more goals to advance.

But the points shared means both Nigeria and Senegal advance.

Nigeria finished on top of the Group with four points followed by Senegal with two points in the three-team table.
