Asante Kotoko SC has announced the capture of goalkeeper Michael Abu from Cape Coast Ebuasua Dwarfs.
The young enterprising goalkeeper joins on a two-year contract having completed his medicals on Friday.
Michael Abu spent two seasons at Sekondi Hasaacas before joining Ebusua Dwarfs where he spent another two years. He featured 22 times for the coastal city club in last season’s Premier league campaign.
Speaking to www.asantekotokosc.com, the tall, strong goalkeeper said ‘Kotoko is home’ and pledged to do his best to help the club win more laurels in the coming seasons.
“I didn’t have any second thoughts when the Kotoko management requested for my services. I am a Kumasi boy from Ashanti New Town precisely so Kotoko for me is home. You don’t hesitate in answering when a home based club comes knocking on your door.”
“By coming here, I am also following the footsteps of the many great goalkeepers of Dwarfs who at some point joined Kotoko and excelled as well,” he said. Joe Car (his trainer at Dwarfs) is one of such players. “I am looking to do exactly as they did by helping the club to win the league and also go far in next year’s Confederations Cup,” he concluded
