Asante Kotoko midfielder, Michael Akuffu has signed a year deal with Lebanese top-flight side Al Ansar.
The former Fetteh Feyernood [now WAFA] captain last month went to Lebanon and had talks with the Beruit based club leading to a possible move but the transfer stalled due to a sheer disagreement between Kotoko and Al Ansar which led to Akuffu’s return to Ghana.
Afterwards Al Ansar again reignited their interest in Michael Akuffu but this time they came with a better offer which the Porcupine Warriors had no option than to let go one of their most experienced players in their set-up.
After inking a year deal with the club, Michael Akuffu was on Saturday unveiled by his new employers, Al Ansar in a news conference at the club’s secretariat in Beruit.
Akuffu before his departure to Lebanon had spent six seasons with Asante Kotoko, winning three Premier league titles and one FA Cup.
