Hearts of Oak defender Michael Awuah Mensah is back in camp, gearing up for the 2024/25 season.
The highly-rated center-back recently secured a move to the Phobians after an impressive performance with debutants Nations FC. Mensah, who signed a three-year deal with the Accra-based club, is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming season.
In an interview with Hearts of Oak media, Mensah shared his feelings about joining the prestigious club and his brief break after signing.
"The feeling wasn't bad as a player purchased by a big club like Hearts of Oak and playing your first big game against Kotoko. After that, I went home to rest for two days to regain my strength," he said.
He further added, "I visited my family, my parents, and the community I grew up in. When God grants you the chance to reach a level like this, you go home to motivate the players there, showing them that hard work in football can lead to success.
"My break involved resting, visiting my parents, and catching up with a few friends. Now, I am back and ready to focus on the season ahead."
