Mighty Jets Extend Lead in Card League

Mighty Jets are leading the Greater Accra playing cards league with 57 points, eleven points ahead of second placed club, E.T. Stars, after 21 games.

Liquenders who occupied the second position after 20 games are now 4th with 45 points, the same points as third placed club Dynasty. Bazoaka have dropped to 5th position with 42 points, followed by Researchers at 6th position with 40 points.

Magic hands (39 pts), Professionals (37 pts) and Show Boys (37 pts) follow in that order. Believers occupy the tenth position with 34 pts, leading eleventh placed Mighty Toppers with 2 points, Zoom Zoom 12th with 28 pts, Dan Rose 13th with 26 pts, Guava Inn 14th with 25 pts and Trocadero Stars 15th with 21 pts follow in that order.

The rest are Stay Cool 16th with 18 pts, Born Again 17th with 16 pts, Dantu 19th with 12 pts and T.T. Stars trailing behind with 7pts. The encounter between 3rd placed Dynasty and 17th placed Born Again kept cards fans on their toes as they embarked on a giant-killing exercise. Right from the start of the game, Born Again, in a truly born-again style led all the way with 40 marks at round 45.Then Otu Juabeng of Dynasty Card Club began to show his skills at card reading to the astonishment of the spectators by gaining points for his club. It was a thrilling and exciting contest which at the end, Dynasty pipped Born Again by two marks to move to third place. Otu Juabeng received tremendous ovation and was carried shoulder-high after the contest.
