Serbian coach Milovan Rajavac says he is desperate to rejoin the Black Stars’ technical team after four years of gallivanting as he arrived in Ghana on Monday for an interview as the team’s technical advisor.

Rajevac is in the hunt for the position with Danish coach Flemming Serritslev who also arrived in the country on Sunday night and underwent the interview with the Ghana FA.

But the Serbian former Black Stars trainer is highly fancied to take the job and he is expected to conclude his contractual details with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) this week.

Answering questions on his role as the technical adviser to Black Stars’ coach, Kwesi Appiah, Rajevac told GNA Sports “I cannot wait to join the family again.”

The Serbian hinted he will join the team when the Stars hit the road to Lome to face the Hawks of Togo in a mid-week Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

“I am very excited to be back here; my second home. It is always relaxing and I love it here. We will see what will happen tomorrow as the team gets ready for the next match”.

Rajavac made the cut among the three shortlisted for the technical advisory role and is expected to conclude his terms with the three-member committee tasked with his appointment before approval by the Executive Committee of the GFA.

The coach enjoyed a two-year successful spell with Ghana when he guided the Black Stars to a silver medal at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola before the quarter final finish at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa later that year.

While at the helm, Appiah was the 60-year old’s assistant.

Rajavac refused to extend his two-year contract with Ghana after the 2010 success.
