Mine Stars, F.C Medeamma, International maintain lead

Former Premier League side, Prestea Mine Stars kept their hopes of returning to the elite division alive after recording a lone goal victory over Samartex F.C to maintain their lead on the Zone 2A table of the National Division One league as the second half of the competition resumed over the weekend.

The Prestea lads now appears to have a comfortable lead as five clear points separates them and the second placed team, Starke F.C ,who failed to win against Gold Stars.

Also joining Mine Stars as leaders of their respective Zones are debutants Tarkwa based side F.C Medeamma and D.International, who also records wins to maintain their lead on the table.

F.C Medeamma beat Gamba All Blacks 3-2 at their Tarkwa based while D.International handed a lone defeat on visiting Inter Allies.

However Ebusua Dwarfs became the highest scoring club after beating Windy Professionals 5-0 at the Robert Mensah stadium to move to second position on the Zone 2B table, three points behind F.C Medeamma.

Joining Dwarfs to record a heavy win was Guan United, who beat their opponents, Yagbon Stars 4-1 at their Tamale base.

The game between former Premiership sides, Power F.C and Zaytuna F.C comes off on Monday at the Koforidua Park.
